Finding Appliances That Are Large Enough

A few years ago when I started a cake business, I was surprised to see how many different orders came in at the same time. It was frustrating for everyone, including my family, because I was storing ingredients in the family fridge. Pretty soon, my husband told me that we needed to invest in some larger appliances, but I didn't know how to start the search. We visited several different stores that had a huge number of options, and I was able to whittle down the appliances that would work for us. This blog is all about finding appliances that are large enough for the things you need to store every day.

How To Deal With 3 Common Gas Stove Issues

Mikael Manni

If you own a gas stove, it is important to be aware of the issues that can develop with a gas stove that can impede your ability to work with your gas stove. Being aware of these issues will allow you to take the proper steps with they arise.

Burner Will Not Light

When you turn on your burner, you should hear a clicking sound, and gas should come out of the valves, and then the burner should light up. If the burner is not lighting up, you need to pay attention to what isn't happening.

If you hear the clicking sound but do not smell any gas, you have an issue with the gas line or flow to that burner. If you smell the gas but don't hear the clicking sound, the problem is with the ignition switch.

You can turn off the stove, unplug it, and then take off the grate and burner cap. You can see if debris needs to be cleaned up around the ignition switch or see if any of the wires are loose and can be easily reconnected. If that doesn't solve the issue, you will need to bring in a range repair service to replace the ignition switch and check on the gas flow.

Continued Clicking

When you turn on a burner, it should only click when you are turning it on. That clicking sound is the ignitor turning on and lighting the gas so that it burns. If you keep hearing a clicking sound when you are cooking, that is not normal.

You will want to turn everything off and take off the burner cap to make sure there is no debris blocking the ignition switch or putting pressure on it, causing it to activate when it shouldn't.

If that doesn't fix the clicking sound, you will want to stop using that burner and call in a professional to fix the issue. You don't want the ignition switch to run when you are cooking continually.

Slow Heating

Over time, you become familiar with how quickly your stove should heat up. If a burner is not heating up as it should, the opening for the flame is probably clogged with debris, not allowing enough gas and heat to escape. In that case, you may just need to clean the burner opening. However, if that doesn't fix the issue, you will need to bring in a technician for some additional troubleshooting.

If your gas range is not working correctly, often cleaning the components can get things running again. However, if that doesn't solve the issue, you will want to bring in a range stove repair service to assist you.
