Finding Appliances That Are Large Enough

A few years ago when I started a cake business, I was surprised to see how many different orders came in at the same time. It was frustrating for everyone, including my family, because I was storing ingredients in the family fridge. Pretty soon, my husband told me that we needed to invest in some larger appliances, but I didn't know how to start the search. We visited several different stores that had a huge number of options, and I was able to whittle down the appliances that would work for us. This blog is all about finding appliances that are large enough for the things you need to store every day.

4 Tips To Help You Get The Most Out Of Your Dryer

Mikael Manni

Here are four tips that will help you get the most usage out of your new dryer.

#1 Install A Short Vent Line

When setting up your dryer, try to find a location that is as close to the wall and the opening where your dryer vent will be located. You want to strive to make the dryer vent as short as possible.

A short dryer vent will allow your dryer to be more efficient. It will also help prevent lint from clogging up your vent and causing additional performances issues. It will also be much easier to clean your vent pipe and remove any lint that gets into it when it is short, verse when it is long.

#2 Always Clean Your Lint Trap

Your dryer has a lint trap. All dryers, even modern, brand new dryers, have lint traps because clothing still produces lint. Many lint traps are located inside of the door of your dryer if you have a front loading dryer. Others are located on the top of your dryer behind the lid if you have a top-loading dryer. If you don't know where your lint trap is, check the owner's manual that come with your dryer.

You need to remove lint from your lint trap after every load that you run. This is the best way to ensure that your lint trap does not become full. If your lint trap is full or overflowing, your lint will find somewhere else to go, which  could cause damage to your dryer. Additionally, if the lint gets stuck in the wrong place it could cause a fire, making it extremely important that you always empty your lint trap.

#3 Watch Your Load Size

Finally, be careful with your load size. You should never over-load your dryer. When you overload your dryer, it will take your dryer extra time and thus extra energy to dry your clothing. Additionally, over time, it will cause the parts on your dryer to wear down at a premature rate and will shorten the overall usable life of your dryer. You can prevent this from happening by making sure that you are never putting too much into your dryer, and by washing and drying smaller loads more frequently instead of always overloading your dryer.

Keep your new dryer in good shape by setting up a short vent pipe, always emptying out the lint trap and being carefully with the overall size of your loads. Call an appliance service if you have trouble.
